Beautiful Porcelain German Half Doll with her Powdered Hair Piled High and her Lace & Satin Underdress

THE STORY - I could not resist this beautiful Porcelain Half Doll, her face so finely painted and delicate hands held a gasp, the wonderful flower in her impressive Grey Powdered Wig and then to make her even more special she still has what looks like her original dress. Her face as I hope you can see if beautifully painted and I am pretty certain she is from the wonderful makers Dressel Kister, but I cannot say this with 100% certainty. She does have marks; impressed on the back of the base is the figure 21 and inside it there looks like the painted initials of C.A or L.A. of course I have not tried to remove the clothes to see if there any further marks. And how do I love her underdress, especially for some reason the purple cotton from which her lace bodice hangs, her petticoats look like they are made from satin one with a print and one plan and under those is a little lace.

AGE - Circa 1910-1920

CONDITION - The figurine herself is in wonderful condition with no cracks or chips that I can see and no restoration. There is a small mark on her cheek but I think this is a painted patch which would be very much in keeping with her costume, best seen in the third photo. Also on her back there remains what looks like the remnants of a very old price sticker which I have not attempted to remove. Her Underdress has of course aged with the passing years the satin petticoats are somewhat creased and stained on the underside which I hope you can see in the ninth photo and her little lace bodice has become unattached to the her petticoats at the front which is best seen the tenth photo. But I have for say for me there is something about the ageing of her clothes besides the fine beauty of the figurines especially her face that makes this piece even more magical.

I adore this Half Doll, I find so much drama in the piece and I think that is certainly helped by her ageing but for me still beautiful underdress. And every time I look at her I am drawn to the fine purple cotton keeping up her bodice in front of which those fine beautiful hands are risen framing that wonderfully painted face upon which that impressive Grey Powdered Wig sits.
